 Though there is no state airline anymore, international carriers freely operate in Nigeria. Virgin Nigeria, a local partner of Virgin Atlantic, is an important airline which regularly operates direct flights from to Lagos international destinations at Gatwick/ London and Johannesburg. The airline accepts international credit cards and debit cards for people in London and Etranzact or Interswitch payment for persons in Nigeria.

Delta Airlines operates daily between either John F. Kennedy or Atlanta to Lagos. Virgin Atlantic and British Airways regularly operate direct flight services from London/ Heathrow to Lagos. Honestly, despite the price fall of crude oil, plane tickets have not dropped at all. And i am really surprise that bargins are not forthcoming has one has expected. At this time of the month when many people are in a hurry to get to their destination – in this case- Nigeria.

The best thing to do right now is to have a set budget in mind as you begain to look for cheap tickets. Another thing to do is look for cheap tickets through unexpected ways like my aunt did. My aunty  got her ticket by calling a friend of hers that knows a travelling agent in another state. Hence try to call relatives to see if they know someone that can get you a deal because my aunt got her Nigeria flight ticket for 35% less than what it was going for on the major travel portal sites.

As i have said in the past, do not restrict yourself to flying to Lagos airport, try other airports such as PortHarcourt or Kano.
